Disadvantages of marble skirting:

1. Easy to fall off: The surface of the marble baseboard is efflorescent, and it is easy to fall off if it is not pasted well.

2. Complicated construction: Compared with other materials, the construction process of the marble skirting is much more complicated, and the construction period is long and the styles are more complicated.

marble skirting installation method:

There are a lot of marble baseboards, but one problem has always worried me, and that is the firmness of the installation. No matter how good you look, if it falls off, it will be over.

There are three ways to install marble skirting:

Wood strip method

1. Drill holes. Before drilling, observe the wiring direction of the water and electricity to prevent errors. The spacing between the holes should not be too large, otherwise the skirting will be difficult to stick to the wall. Use special tools to drill holes in the wall. The common length of the skirting line is 2m. In order to fix the skirting line more firmly, the interval between the holes should be about 40cm, and the interval at the interface should be smaller.

2. Nail the small wooden strips into the holes just made. The nails that fix the skirting line are nailed to this wooden strip, directly nailed to the wall, the nails are easy to loosen.

3. Before fixing the skirting line, the wall should be leveled and cleaned. Otherwise, after the skirting line is installed, it cannot be completely attached to the wall, which will leave unsightly gaps. Look at the location of the drill hole, and then fix the nail to the skirting line. When fixing, pay attention to whether the skirting line is close to the wall. The nails should also be completely submerged in the skirting line and cannot be seen.

Note: Whether it is a baseboard made of polymer, density board, or wood, it has the characteristics of thermal expansion and contraction. Therefore, the baseboard near the corner should be like the floor, leaving an expansion joint of about 1cm.

4. Corner treatment, at the corner of the wall, where the skirting line intersects, the edge of the skirting line should be cut at a 45-degree angle, so that no unsightly marks will be left at the interface. Fix the cut skirting. Note: The skirting line of the corner must be cut at a 45-degree angle before splicing and installation, otherwise it will affect the appearance.

5. Installation points, the nails to fix the skirting line should use special threaded nails, so that the fixing effect is better and it is not easy to loosen. The baseboard was originally intended to cover the expansion joints of the floor and make the ground more beautiful. Therefore, the edges where the skirting lines intersect should be smoothed with a plane. The skirting must be completely close to the wall, leaving no gaps, to be more beautiful, especially in the corners. The flatness of the wall should be tested before installation.

Glass glue method

is to use neutral glass glue instead of structural glue, which can be stronger. There is no need to add wood base layer, remove the whitewashing layer of the original house, and then directly use neutral glass glue to glue the marble skirting and wall, while the marble and marble are directly treated with marble glue.

Structural glue method

1. Deal with the stucco layer of the wall and clean the wall.

2. Deal with the flatness of the lower wall.

3. Marble skirting and wall are pasted with structural adhesive.

4. Marble glue is used to paste the marble skirting directly and between the marble and the wall.

5. Support it for at least 24 hours.

Structural adhesive is the best medium for attaching marble skirting, but there is a problem, that is, its setting time is a bit long, requiring more than 24 hours. Then it is very important to support it during this period, and the setting time of marble glue is very short, so the use of marble glue can play a role of temporary support.
