Granite is extremely resistant to bacteria, an important consideration for kitchen counters in particular. And the granite in countertops has been sealed to make it stain-resistant. To keep the glossy shine for which it’s prized, you need to clean granite counters regularly and carefully. Learn the dos and don'ts of cleaning granite.

What to avoid

No two granite countertops are the same. Some came from the plant for resin processing..Others require a sealant to be applied from every year to every few years. You could consult the company—YeYang for the recommended treatment.

Since granite is porous, a sealer is there to protect the granite from potentially harmful materials that can affect the appearance and lifespan of the granite.

No matter what kind of granite or seal, what's different, you shouldn't clean the granite countertops. You should avoid using acid-based cleaners ,like lemon, orange, vinegar or bleach-based on granite. The acids contained in these cleaners will degrade the sealant and can leave unsightly stains on the countertop.
